Apart/Hide
Apartheid ended 35 years ago yet still feels so alive today. A lot was achieved during those years but separation remains undeniably palpable. I was surprised to experience the great gap between social classes in such close proximity. Instead of true integration, people in the rainbow country continued to live apart and hide behind walls, rules and systems. Arriving in South Africa, I felt inspired to be among rich and poor and visualize the distance that continues to exist.
